Hmm … it appears that somehow, something managed to screw up my comments database. In a normal case, it would have been a very straight forward issue to export the database, check for correct entries, clear and re-import the database. However, this was not to be as I couldn’t export it due to the corruption and well, the last time I did a database back-up was many months ago. All my fault.

Even upgrading to the latest version of WP isn’t helping at all. I guess I either have to lose all the entries which were not backed-up, or manually synchronize the back-up to the current status. Not going to be easy.

Gotta try and remind myself to have a consistent back-up strategy in place. Then again, I doubt I’ll really follow it.

Hmm … looks like it was just a simple job of checking the SQL database and then clicking the repair link. Appears to be working fine so far.
