Just returned not too long ago from a old birds gathering. Not really old birds, but we’ve known each other for almost a decade already, so yes it can probably be classified as that. Interesting how much we have evolved based on the changing of the topics.

This time, it was talk mainly of cars. Not so much of me being the odd one out, but of cars in general. Not that it mattered anyway; I like cars too, more because of the safety and the definite increase in level of comfort. However, with the insane amount of excess charges which goes not to the price of the car but the gahmen instead, and the sheer number of cars already on the roads, it is not something very encouraging. Besides, the car which I would really like to own is not available in singapore at all. It’s not easy to obtain right now, since it’s a rarity, and importing it in is out of the question.

The talk shifted to pimping of cars, since two of them have just recently acquired performance cars. Different performance levels, but still better than your average family car never-the-less. The amount of pimping is definitely not as glamorous compared MTV’s Pimp My Ride, but it still raises the bar a little.

It’s not just my friends who have got new acquisitions. Just yesterday, I had the opportunity to go up close and personal to my cousin’s Z4 beemer. Beemers are getting very common nowadays, but a Z4? That’s a little hard to come by. It sure looks sweet, with almost half the length of the car taken up by the engine. Simply amazing.
